About
My name is Goldis Gorji, I’m a proud Iranian girl that was born and raised in the UK. I am currently studying the structure and function of G-protein coupled receptors as part of my course, Biomedical Science, at the University of Sheffield. I enjoy teaching and have been tutoring for 5 years, working with children from the ages of 8-17. Throughout this project, we have worked closely with Sheba arts and Manchester Museum to retrace the origins of certain pieces of art, asking questions such as how and why they were taken in the first place. This has inspired me to write poems on the exploitation of middle eastern cultures and stories, often done with little credit or appropriate acknowledgement. The skills I have acquired whilst working on this project are skills that I intend to hone in future endeavours with both Sheba arts and Manchester Museum.
